Upload, encrypt, and share, all from the URL.
Why is the maximum file size so small?
▼
We are putting your file directly into the URL, and browsers have limits on how long a URL can be. Through testing, we've found that 350 KB (~500,000 characters) is about the maximum size that works in Chrome. We were able to successfully upload and download a 10 MB file in Safari, albeit slowly.
URLs can't possibly be that long...
▼
Yes, they can. Even if the browser doesn't display the entire URL in the address bar, the full data is still there. You can paste the link into the address bar, and it should load your file as expected.
Is this secure?
▼
The files are encrypted using AES-GCM encryption in your browser. Only someone with the correct passphrase can decrypt and access the file contents. Ensure you share the passphrase securely.
Do you store my files?
▼
No, the only place your files are "stored" is in the URL, which is why we recommend encrypting them to prevent browser history or other tools from tracking them.
Who are you and why did you build this?

You can find me on X/Twitter
@burcs. I built it because it was fun to scratch an itch + it seemed like a useful tool to quickly share small files, images, notes, etc...
